Top 10 Premium WordPress Theme Sites

As podcasters, it’s easy for us to get caught up in creating the content of our shows, finding the right equipment and massaging the sound until it’s just right. But then we just slap it up on our website, giving little thought to the presentation.

When I look at the numbers for my show a large portion of my audience is actually coming to my site and listening to the podcast there.

Like many podcasters, I’m using WordPress as a CMS (content management system). One of the beautiful things about WordPress is the ability to use themes. With the click of a button you can dramatically change the overall look of your site.

Also, being frugal, the first thing we do is load up Google and type in FREE WORDPRESS THEMES. After looking at hundreds of different themes, you start to understand why they’re free.

An Alternative to Free WordPress Themes

You can hire a designer to create your site but that can get expensive.

Why reinvent the wheel when there are hundreds of sites creating quality WordPress themes at a cost that would be a fraction of what you’d pay a designer.

Some of the sites have ready made themes you can install, turn on and run with.

For the more adventurous, a few of these sites have created framework software that runs in the background and allows you to associate one of their child themes with them. The big selling point to this method is that you can get all of your base information – RSS feeds, advertising, scripts, etc. – installed in the framework and now that it’s going to run seamlessly if you change the child theme.

An added bonus is that many premium sites also have affiliate programs that you can take advantage of. For the sake of transparency I am affiliated with all of the sites mentioned below.

The following list is my Top 10 Premium WordPress Theme Sites.

The ranking is in no particular order. As for a personal favorite, I’ve always been partial to StudioPress (this site is built on the Genesis framework). But I encourage you to check out all of the companies so you can get a better handle on what’s available to you.
